Amalienborg Museum adult ticket
Timed entry to Christian VIII's Palace: the kings' studies, the Gala Hall and the Fabergé Chamber
The adult ticket is timed entry for one person to the Amalienborg Museum in Christian VIII's Palace, the one palace on the square you can walk into on an ordinary day. You choose the day and the 15-minute slot; once you are in, there is no time limit. It covers the kings' studies, the piano nobile halls with the Gala Hall, the Fabergé Chamber and Queen Alexandrine's Salon.
What to expect
You arrive on Amalienborg's cobbled square and enter Christian VIII's Palace through the gate nearest Frederiksgade. Show your ticket on your phone, or on paper, at the entrance within the slot you booked, then go down one level to the museum shop and cloakroom, where backpacks and larger bags go into the free lockers.
The route starts with the kings' studies: Frederik IX's bright room first, then back in time to Christian IX's dark, photo-filled corner study, Queen Louise's crowded sitting room, Frederik VIII's heavy study and Christian X's, the only one still in its original place. The Fabergé Chamber and Queen Alexandrine's Salon sit along the way.
Upstairs, the piano nobile opens into the gilded halls the royal family still uses for official visits and events, including the Gala Hall. Most people spend about an hour inside. There is no time limit, so if you want to come back out for the Changing of the Guard at noon, plan your slot around it.

Who it's not for
If you are after the Crown Jewels, they are at Rosenborg Castle, not here. If you only want the Changing of the Guard, it is free on the square at noon and needs no ticket. If you hold a Copenhagen Card, the museum accepts it directly, so don't buy from us. And if you plan to see three palaces within three days, the Royal Palace Pass is better value than this ticket.
